This course will give you all the information, tools, and resources to support a seamless, workplace and community integration. It will help you reduce the anxiety and stresses of starting over and the fear of the unknown.
It will provide a unique shortcut to empowering you with all the information you need to be confident and successful on your new journey as a foreign worker or foreign national.
Imagine being equipped with knowing your rights and responsibilities as an employee in Canada, being equipped with the basic information about workplace discrimination and harassment policy, occupational health and safety as well as when you will be eligible for OHIP and what’s covered under OHIP.
It will give you information to have handy if the need arises.
It will fill you in on cultural norms, dressing for the weather, Canadian cuisine, where to find necessary community resources, acceptable workplace behaviour, to make it through your work contract without so much as a wrinkle, worry or anxiety…

In the first module we will explore what it really means to “acclimatize or adapt to your new life and/or role. We will explore Canadian culture, customs, cuisine, norms, and habits. We will also explore the thought-provoking question of things
to consider before you arrive in the foreign country. In this module we will also explore Canada’s four seasons, accommodation options and transportation or getting around once you arrive.
From there, we’ll move on to learning about "the foreign worker journey". In this module we will take you through next steps once you arrive in the foreign country.
We will provide you with the correct information and resources on how to apply for your federal and provincial documents essential to your work or school, setting up bank accounts. We will discuss health and community services, workplace
culture, etiquette, hygiene, and dressing for success.
Finally, you’ll discover the best ways to support a healthy workplace integration with knowledge your rights and responsibilities as an employee as well as your employer’s rights and responsibilities. We believe that to truly become part of a
community and have a true sense of belonging, you should be well versed with not only the culture but the laws and legislation of the country you call home. Thus, we have included what we consider an important section which provides you with the basic information about employment related laws and legislation; to enlighten you about your rights and responsibilities as an employee.
